The modernised waste recycling centre of the company Hackl in Wulkaprodersdorf transports and separates waste via conveyor belts between different halls. Annually, approx. 45,000 tons of recyclable materials and waste are professionally disposed of and recycled as much as possible. For the safety of personnel and to protect infrastructure in the event of fire, investments were also made in a highly effective high-pressure water mist (HPWM) system from AQUASYS.
In cooperation, an innovative and efficient solution for the prevention of fire flashover in the area of waste management and for the protection of wall breakthroughs was developed. The central unit with 560 l / min delivery capacity, simultaneously serves 8 breakthroughs and is housed in a pump room built by the customer, which could be designed to be particularly space-saving due to the compact design of the AQUASYS components.
Each breakthrough is protected by a Flowdrill pipe, i.e. the nozzles are installed directly in the pipe and fitted around the wall breakthroughs. If a fire is detected by the on-site fire detectors, the HDWN system is activated immediately.
In contrast to sprinkler systems, the AQUASYS high-pressure water mist system atomises the water extremely finely. This not only cools any smoke gases that occur, but also precipitates them very well. This protects the environment and is a further positive effect of the AQUASYS fire-fighting system.
